This site belongs to well known Islamic Economist Dr. Monzer Kahf. Dr. Monzar Kahf has been Professor of Islamic Finance and Economics at Qatar the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Hamad University, in Doha, Qatar since the middle of 2008. Dr. Kahf is a Leading Scholar, Professor and a Consultant in Islamic banking and finance. Dr. Kahf has been drafting and reviewing Shari’ah contents of finance agreements, by-laws and operational systems for Islamic financial institutions in many countries around the world including USA, Canada, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad. Dr. Kahf serves as the Chairman of Shari’ah Board at Jaiz Bank Plc. He served as a Visiting Professor of Islamic Finance at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) based in Malaysia, summer 2010. In the year 2004/2005, he was a Professor of Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking at Graduate program of Yarmouk University, Jordan. He served as a Senior Research Economist at the Islamic Research And Training Institute of the Islamic Development Bank, IDB, in Jedda from 1985 to 1999. Dr. Kahf serves as the Chairman of Advisory Committee of Expert (ACE). He has written 38 books and published over 91 articles in English and Arabic on Trusts, Awqaf, Zakah, Islamic Finance and Banking and other areas of Islamic economics. Since 1973, he has been contributing to conferences, seminars and training programs across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Far East and the Middle East. Dr. Kahf was awarded the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prize for Islamic Economics in 2001. He speaks English, Arabic and a little of French. He holds PhD in Economics from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, March, 1975, High Diploma in Social and Economic Planning, UN Institute of Planning, Damascus, Syria, 1967, B.A. in Business from the University of Damascus, Damascus, Syria in 1962 which earned him the President’s Award for best University Graduating Student, July, 1962.
